BIC receives media representatives, showcases online judiciary
A media delegation visited the Beijing Internet Court (BIC) on Nov 20 to learn about the latest practices and innovations in online judiciary.
BIC Vice-President Sun Mingxi received the delegation.

They visited an exhibition area of online litigation services, where the whole process of online litigation was illustrated through an animated presentation narrated by an AI-powered judge. This visit gave media representatives a firsthand look at the progress made by the BIC in building a smart court system driven by sci-tech innovation.

The delegation was also briefed on typical cases related to online affairs, including the country's first copyright infringement case involving an AI-generated image. These cases demonstrated the BIC's active response to the challenges brought by advanced technologies as well as its judiciary wisdom in guiding the regulated and healthy development of emerging industries

The visitors watched an online trial in which Wang Yanjie, judge of the BIC's Case-filing Division, heard a dispute involving the infringement of the right to network dissemination of information. They experienced the whole process of the online trial, and lauded the effectiveness and convenience of online litigation.

Looking ahead, the BIC will consistently strengthen the building of smart court and leverage its advantages as a legal publicity and education base to present the country's internet-related judiciary and consolidate legal foundation for building China into a cyberspace power and promoting the Digital China initiative.
