A compilation of outstanding cases on internet civilization development in 2024 was released at the 2024 China Internet Civilization Conference in Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan province on Aug 28.

The Beijing Internet Court (BIC)'s minor protection mechanism, recommended by the Supreme People's Court (SPC) and jointly submitted by the SPC's First Civil Division, was the only case selected from China's court system.

A total of 50 cases made the final list.

The BIC unveiled the country’s first internet minors tribunal in 2021. It also launched its minors protection mechanism named Shou Hu Wei Lai, which prioritizes the protection of minors, featuring coordinated efforts across departments and regions and the application of multiple new media formats.

The BIC has heard a number of cases concerning minors' protection in cyberspace which were designated typical cases for the people's courts in promoting core socialist values. It produced a series of online mini-lectures and educational cartoons which received a total of 3 million views. It launched online literacy education courses, covering primary and secondary schools in all 16 districts of Beijing, gradually radiating to Southwest China's Yunnan province and Sichuan. It also established the country's first online family education guidance platform, offering more than 100 courses to date.

The project has received wide recognition since its inception, winning multiple honors at municipal and national levels, and was covered by more than 30 media outlets including People's Daily online, China Youth Daily and Legal Daily.
