BIC hosts legal education event for Beijing middle schools
Beijing Internet Court (BIC), together with Beijing's Fangshan district people's court, hosted a legal education tour for students from two Beijing-based schools on June 13.
The tour was part of the BIC's efforts in legal education for minors. Liu Ning, head of the third civil division of Fangshan district people's court and Sun Mingxi, standing member of the BIC's Adjudication Committee as well as head of the BIC's 3rd Comprehensive Division Yang Jun and deputy head Jing Jiewen attended the event.
The students, who are based in Fangshan district, watched a short video about the BIC's background, main functions and achievements.
They also visited the BIC's online litigation zone, where they learned about the court's technological applications, including the e-litigation platform, the Tianping Block Chain; time stamping; automatic document generation; and court proceedings such as case filing applications, online case review, online hearing and online execution. They also watched an online case hearing in the BIC's virtual court cabin.
At a symposium held afterwards, Liu and Yan had a warm discussion with the students, who demonstrated enthusiasm for the novelty of the online model and smart court development.
The event was well received by the students and gave them first-hand experience in the smart court online litigation model and the cutting-edge legal technological products which can deliver fairness and justice by sci-tech-empowered judiciary.
