On Nov 20, the Beijing Internet Court (BIC), together with the cyberspace administration and education commission of Beijing's Xicheng district, carried out a law popularization activity at Beijing Fendou Primary School and Beijing No 14 High School, as part of the court's efforts to publicize the latest regulation on protecting minors in cyberspace, which will come into effect on Jan 1, 2024.

Sun Mingxi, head of the juvenile tribunal of the BIC, mainly lectured such topics as minors' online surfing features, legislation of minors' online protection, online protection of personal information, prevention of internet addiction and infringement of minors' legitimate rights and interests. The lecture aimed to guide students towards healthy online behavior and to raise their self-protection awareness.

This activity is also part of the law popularization campaign of the Beijing municipal government on the new regulation, aiming to improve the efficiency of minors’ protection in cyberspace by tapping all resources from the family, the schools, society, online platforms, the government and judicial organs.
