BIC president attends 2nd BFA IIPPC

Jiang Ying, president of the Beijing Internet Court (BIC), attended and addressed the second Innovation and Intellectual Property Protection Conference (IIPPC) of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) on July 20.

With a focus on the intellectual property (IP) system to stimulate innovative vitality and promote high-quality development, the conference was composed of a plenary session and four parallel sub-forums. Jiang shared with participants the existing challenges and judicial responses to IP protection in emerging industries, such as big data and artificial intelligence, and joined roundtable discussions on such topics as the characteristics of internet courts and the empowerment of electronic evidence deposit by blockchain technology.

Based on its functional role, the BIC gives full play to its leading role in establishing rules, improving systems, and digital governance, stimulating the innovation vitality of the digital economy in the trial of internet-related IP cases, guiding the innovative application of emerging technologies, supporting the new economy, new business forms and models, and continuously improving the level of judicial protection of IP in cyberspace.
