Beijing Internet Court opens online lectures for law students
The Beijing Internet Court will provide a serial of online lectures for colleges and universities.
Given by Sun Minxi, director of the Trial Management Office of the Beijing Internet Court, the first of the lectures opened on March 21 for the students of Renming University of China.
Over 110 students of the university attended the lecture online to learn about the background and implementation of internet trials, the online court's development and innovative ideas about traditional trial theory.
The three-hour lecture was realized by an online meeting application where Sun fully communicated with the attending students and answered their questions
The online lectures result from mechanisms of long-term communication, resource sharing and co-training established by the Beijing Internet Court with universities. It is also a measure to promote the network construction of law-related education for juvenile and improve the students' legal literacy.
In the upcoming spring semester, the court will also provide a course on the leading-edge of internet trial mechanisms and practices in the Law School of Renming Univesity of China, which is one of the colleges and universities of the court's partners in legal talents training
Online lecture has become a new method for the court to cultivate talents' professionalism in the rule of law on the internet.
In addition to cooperating with universities in online lectures, the court also provided lectures for its own court staff and those from all three court levels in Beijing.
The lectures for courts are part of a balance between the court's daily work and its furthering of epidemic prevention and control, according to the court.
