French Supreme Administrative Court delegation visits Beijing Internet Court

A delegation of the French Supreme Administrative Court led by the court's vice-president Bruno Russell visited the Beijing Internet Court on Nov 18.

The delegation surveyed its latest results in smart court construction through watching a promotion video, visiting the online litigation experience area, experiencing facial recognition access control and observing the Balance Blockchain system.

They spoke highly of the court's achievements in in-depth integration of science and technology with justice after learning about its electronic litigation platform and AI judges.

Zhang Wen, president of the Beijing Internet Court, welcomed the delegation. Zhang introduced its members to the court's organization, data of concluded cases as well as trial information in the past year. The delegation also absorbed some basic information about the court's trial handling and technology application capacity.

With that technological support, the court’s work efficiency has improved significantly and also increased litigants' convenience, Zhang said, adding that as a pilot court, there is still a long way to go in optimization of trial methods. 

Russell said the visit was impressive and that he hopes to have an opportunity to understand the court more fully.
