Law professor at University of Copenhagen visits Beijing Internet Court
China's application of science and technology in the judicial field is amazing, said a professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen's Centre of Excellence for International Courts, after a visit to the Beijing Internet Court on Oct 15.
Joanna Lam is a senior expert of legal issues in dispute resolution and also a visiting professor at the Renmin University of China Law School. Her visit to the court was so she could acquire new practices and experience in internet-related dispute resolution mechanisms.
Lam went to the court's online litigation experience area, litigation services center and network court during her visit, where she tried facial recognition, VR glasses, and bullet-screen message applications. She also learned the procedures of online diversified mediation and online trials and observed technologies such as blockchains and AI virtual judges.
Her experience in the court was impressive, she said, adding that she hopes the two sides will have further exchanges.
