To further tap into the guidance of online adjudication rules, the Beijing Internet Court (BIC) launched a mini program of adjudication rules database on Aug 31. BIC President Jiang Ying, head of its Political Department Xu Changming as well as vice-presidents Zhao Ruigang and Zhao Changxin jointly initiated the program at the launching ceremony.

In terms of user interface design, the program has intellectual property, civil, commercial and procedural matters as primary categories and further subdivides by legal application criteria such as the determination of originality as secondary categories. It has an open-source framework for the adoption of future adjudication rules. Its keyword search function provides maximized convenience for the general public and judges to quickly find content. As for content display, it offers summarized adjudication rules and typical cases with related legal provisions, where titles are brief and to the point, contents are comprehensive and informative, and cases are rich and diverse, all of which ensures easy access to information and services.

Since its establishment, the BIC has handled over a hundred internet-related cases with demonstrable significance, which has laid a solid foundation for the establishment of four major adjudication rule databases for intellectual property, civil, commercial, and procedural cases. To date, 63 rules have been absorbed in the databases, and seven major adjudication rule systems have been developed.
