BIC judges interpret personal information protection online
Two livestreaming sessions were recently held by the Beijing Internet Court (BIC), People's Court Daily, and China Global Television Network (CGTN), to help the public better understand the Personal Information Protection Law, which officially took effect on Nov 1, 2021.
The two livestreaming sessions invited two BIC judges to interpret the law, attracting a total viewership of 370,000.
Judge Sun Mingxi analyzed the provisions relating to personal information, such as mobile apps' collecting of personal information, the personalized information push services, sensitive personal information, personal information of minors, and how state organs deal with personal information.
Judge Li Wenchao explained the law's key provisions on protecting internet users and regulating software operators, as well as the special provisions and significance on protecting personal information of the minors, via several related cases trialed by the BIC.
