Beijing Internet Court carries off prize on innovating judicial reform
The Beijing Internet Court's "e-copyright" litigation source co-governance system was selected as one of the top 20 best demonstration cases on "micro-innovation" in judicial reform.
Organized by the Beijing High People's Court, it was the second session of the case selection event. The result was announced at the court's news conference on Jan 19.
The "e-copyright" litigation source co-governance system was co-built by the Beijing Internet Court and the copyright protection center of Beijing, as a result of their strategic cooperation agreement signed in July 2020.
The system is dedicated to forming a new image copyright pattern which is rights respected, transacting orderly, open and transparent. It formulates trial directions for internet-related image copyright cases and specifies the criteria of copyright recognition and judgment rules.
The system was also designed to clearly recording copyright registrations and circulation tracing, promoting copyright transaction publicity and traceability of image copyright infringements.
The system was initially built to settle diversified disputes in image copyright cases and now its internet-related scope of settling disputes has enlarged to fields such as music copyright, internet finance and online shopping.
From January to November 2020, the rate of accepting cases decreased by 13.8 percent year-on-year even though online case filing was not disturbed basically by the COVID-19 epidemic, which means that the system has initially realized the goal of reducing case storage and backlogs.
