Vice-president of Beijing Internet Court attends 7th IPSAML

Li Jingwei, vice-president of the Beijing Internet Court, was invited to the 7th International Conference on Intellectual Property, Standards and Anti-Monopoly Law (IPSAML) on Oct 25, 2018. 

Themed on internet judicial system innovation in the context of New Economy development and reform, the session welcomed a speech by Li on "New Economy Development and China's Judicial System Reform".

Li first pointed out the in-depth and all-round impact of the internet industry and digital economy on society under the new situation.

The establishment of the Beijing Internet Court follows the development of the internet in daily life, and also conforms to the rule of law as it pertains to the internet's role in state governance.

He explained the court's innovation in jurisdiction, trial media and trial rules, and in operation mode made possible by combining it with judicial system comprehensive reform.

The court will actively respond to the needs of New Economy development to protect internet-related intellectual property and to promote the healthy and orderly development of the internet economy, said Li.

Li's keynote speech led the attendants to understand the significance of the establishment of the Beijing Internet Court and its important role in internet-related intellectual property rights protection, according to other attendants.

The conference was hosted by the National Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team, and was attended by representatives of the State Administration for Market Regulation, the National Intellectual Property Administration, the Supreme People's Court, the Beijing Court, the Jiangsu Court, and well-known enterprises as well as domestic and foreign experts and scholars.
