BIC conducts legal education activity at the Beijing Capital International Airport Economic Zone

A legal education session on personal information protection was held by the Beijing Internet Court (BIC) on June 24 at the economic zone of the Beijing Capital International Airport.

The BIC's Vice-President Yi Jun attended the event, with more than 70 representatives of the economic zone's administrative committee participating.

At the event, Wang Hongxia, deputy chief judge of the Second Comprehensive Division of the BIC, gave a presentation on adjudication of civil disputes involving personal information infringement. She provided a detailed analysis on relevant policies, laws and cases, offering a guide to the common risks of personal information infringement encountered in everyday online activities and how to recognize them.

Participants commended the lecture, expressing that personal information concerns not only the rights and interests of every ordinary person but also the very foundation of social trust.

This legal education activity is a practical measure taken by the BIC to optimize Beijing's business environment with its professional services.

At the event, representatives from the BIC's Second Comprehensive Division exchanged ideas with officials of the administrative committee on conducting more legal education programs and on providing judicial services for enterprises in the zone.

Yi stated that guided by the overarching goal of promoting high-quality development in the capital, the BIC has explored law-based, feasible measures to support the sound operation of businesses.

He noted that building on this legal education session, which helped enterprises in the economic zone establish a basic understanding of personal information protection, the BIC will put its eyes on addressing the most pressing concerns of enterprises in future programs. He pointed out that the court is ready to deliver targeted legal education on issues such as platform governance rules, so as to ensure that legal education is delivered in a more precise and effective manner, providing legal support for Beijing's digital, high-quality development.
